Re: 2002 Isuzu Rodeo - 3.2L LH Bank Won't Run

i guess i woulda been looking more at the wiring, fuel pressure, etc rather than a mechanical issue, especially if there is good compression on each cylinder. I been there already on other vehicles only to discover a sensor or something not connected.

Re: POLL: Mandatory Safety Glasses?

thanks for your suggestion steve. I will check these places out soon. It sure is good to have fellow techs/shop owners that know their stuff. My hat is off to ya steve. I wear bi focal glasses, can these safety glasses be worn over top of them or how does that work? I well nigh can't see much at all...

Re: POLL: Social Networking: Which Do You Use?

I voted. Basically, for me, I use Mitchel forum and iatn as well as a few other good shops in our area that are on neither. That is for my business. Because I am a serious Christian and devout church member, I find myself having many other social contacts that definitely fill the need I have for rel...

Re: POLL: Watched our Training Videos?

I just now voted, although I'm not sure if the poll is still open on this one. I have found many of the training videos very helpful and would encourage more as time goes on. Again, Thanks to Mitchell1 for great products. I know I have said this before but I am extremely grateful for the info I get ...

Re: POLL: Mandatory Safety Glasses?

I didn't vote and while I am strongly in support of safety glasses and other safety features, I have a question: Are safety glasses available that do not fog over or heat up when worn? I have a hot head, literally and have tried wearing safety glasses but every time I do, they for over and I can't s...

Re: 1995 Chev K2500 - 7.4L Misfire Under Load

Yes well. Even new plugs and or wires out of the box have been known to be faulty under load. I have seen this several times lately. Perhaps an ignition wire is not fully connected to plug or inserted in distributor completely. Coil may break down under heavy load, it likely is not fuel related. If ...

Broken Bolts on GM Products

I got a 85 Chevy P30 here with a 5.7L engine. It came in to replace the intake manifold gaskets cause they were leaking coolant externally. The problem is that several intake manifold fastening bolts are breaking off due to corrosion. The situation is that several years ago someone installed an Edel...

Re: POLL: Where Do You Access The Forum From?

I access it only from my place of business. I strongly feel that when I am home, my business must stay att eh shop and I spend time, quality time with the family (what is left at home). All too soon we are older and wonder where did the years get too.

I voted because I really do appreciate what this forum has contributed in my business. I only wish with the total numbers that are registered as users that more guys would be regular contributors. I watch it as often as I can which is usually at least a couple times per day although it varies with m...

Re: 1998 Ford F150 - 4.6L PCM Won't Reset FIXED

I just looked it up and according to the wiring diagram Mitchell provides me with, KAP comes directly from Fuse 1 (5amp fuse) in the Engine Fuse Module on the left side of engine compartment.

Re: Positive Temperature Coefficients

If it operates as a thermal limiter (which is about what I suspected), then I wonder why not call it that instead of this fancy name as a positive temperature coefficient? Reminds me of another thread on this forum about name changes and definitions of various components. Thanks for your clarificati...

Re: Positive Temperature Coefficients

Well that seems to be what they are. Are they designed to trip/blow when a certain temperature on the circuit is reached due to overload or what is their purpose? I mean, there is fuses on those circuits already and according to logic there should not be a need to protect a fuse with another fuse/de...

Re: Positive Temperature Coefficients

Well, for starters, no dtc in pcm, fuel pressure is 52psi koeo. Scan tool indicates engine rpm, we got fuel injector pulse but no spark. ASD relay is working, got 12 volts to the coil pak, however when doing my coil driver test #3 fails even at the PCM. This is almost certainly indicating a faulty P...

Re: 1977 Cad Cpe DeVille - A/C Parts?

Yea I agree it will be alot of work to get this one going again but it can be done. I make my own hoses as well and fittings are easy to come by as a rule. Yea, it will cost the owner a few bolognas and change but he will like it. 4 Seasons used to still have those POA valves yet, at least they were...

Re: 1989 Jeep Wrangler - 4.2L Oil Leak

Is there any way to determine blowby that is excessive? That may be a rather elementary question but this customer will want to know details. BTW he does have the new stamped steel rocker cover on this engine. New PCV valve also. I checked vacuum with a gauge and at 900 rpm it holds a rock steady 21...

1995 Chrysler T&C - Positive Temp Coefficients FIXED

On middle 90s and up Chrysler products minivans with the 3.3L and the 3.8L engines, they have a little gizmo under the dash in the fuse panel called a "Positive Temperature Coeffieient". Does anybody know what they are and what the purpose of it is and how does it function? I got a 95 Town & Country...
