Re: 1996 Grand Caravan Wipers (BCM)

The toggle switch was the customer's inquiry...we told him the same thing in regards to it being a problematic solution at best. We found a salvage BCM that came from the identical year/model vehicle with the identical options...same number on the casing for the unit, even. Plugged it in, and still ...

Re: 1996 Grand Caravan Wipers (BCM)

We're checking on the ground issue - but I have another related question: Does anyone REALLY know whether the BCM needs to be reprogrammed? I'm being told by some that if I replace it for my customer, I HAVE to get one that has the same number on it, some are saying that even then, it will have to b...

1996 Gr Caravan Wipers - Unresolved

The wipers fail to operate, so here's what we did: 1. Tested the motor - it works fine. 2. Tested the switch - it works fine. 3. Tested the lines for power from the motor to the relays & from the relays, through the firewall, and inside the vehicle to the switch - looks good. Then we were stumped! I...

Re: 1997 Ford Escort: Fuel Relay?

Thanks, everyone! As it turns out, it was two issues causing the problem, both of which have been mentioned here. The alternator diode was not functioning properly, and we believe it caused a ground wire short elsewhere.

Your help is priceless...thanks!

Re: 1997 Ford Escort: Fuel Relay?

Thanks for the replies! Checked the alternator, which seems fine. Wiring harness and inertia switch (bypassed) has no effect. The fuse says 30AMP / FI. Every time the key is turned to the on position, it pops the fuse. Located the CCRM, and my tech is attemping to test it. Any advice on that? I'm te...

1997 Ford Escort: Fuel Relay? FIXED

This Escort has a 2.0 4-Cylinder/Auto., and the owner suspected a bad fuel pump. Fuel pump tests fine, the inertia switch is fine, and we're getting power to the injector head, but the 30amp FI Fuse keeps popping. Anyone know where the fuel pump relay is on this application, or what else might be ca...
