Re: Who Recommended + Service Writer

At the last place I worked, anytime I did a revision, on the last line I put a note with my name, and the date it was estimated. Our service writer there was terrible, (they did finally get rid of him), he wouldn't even clear them out if the work was done, so it looked like there was always revisio...

Re: Manager SE - Credit Card Processing Announcement

what about checks. I have a fd200 that is cc, db and ck all in one. if the current one will not do checks, is there a plan to maybe incorporate tele check into the mix. We pay a monthly fee for the service and a very small transaction fee. I am very happy to have this service. For I am the one who ...

We were also one of the Beta test shops. I haven't much to add to Gerald's review. We too have had an excellent experience thus far and don't expect to be changing back to our original credit card processing method. The rates so far have been slightly better than what we had and although we were und...

Re: 2000 Buick Lesabre 3.8 K fuel mileage

I'm not saying that using Autolite plugs is the issue. I'm saying he needs to make sure that the spark plug installed is actually the correct plug for that application. I had a Mitsubishi in last week that had a set of Autolite's installed. The plug was had the right thread pitch, so it screwed righ...

Re: 2000 Buick Lesabre 3.8 K fuel mileage

Anythings possible. I too believe in sticking with the correct manufacturer of spark plugs, but did you check to see if the correct Autolite plug was even installed. I've seen shops put a totally wrong plug for the application in a vehicle and cause all kinds of problems. I think the route you're su...

Re: Cleaning Ford Throttle Bodies?

I've cleaned plenty of the Fords that have the "special coating" (real impressed with the coating...NOT!) and never had a problem. You have to be very careful on some manufacturers throttle body designs though. I do not spray throttle bodies that have IACs located on the underside or ones with drive...

Re: 2003 VW Passat - Coolant & Oil Loss

Have had a lot of these with oil consumption issues. Volkswagen states that 1 qt of oil per 1200 miles is acceptable usage. There are several TSB's related to this in Alldata and Mitchell. I've never seen a head gasket go in one of these...not to say it's not possible, but it's not a common thing. C...
