2010 Kia Optima - Lunges When Braking?
I will try to get more information soon. Ex wife has a 2010 Optima that she says "lunges" when she is braking. I have checked bulletins and recalls. I don't have the car here but told her I would ask around. Edit: per her message: "Hard kick when it does it, no lights on (warning lights) almost any ...

Reports Don't Match?
Crystal reports don't match on two different printouts. I printed two separate reports today, one was "posted taxable Orders" and the other was "Sales recipts summary". Both reports are for the month of June, and reflect from June 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012. The posted taxable report shows parts sales...

Re: 2001 Ford F150 - 4.2L VIN 2 Lean
For lack of any other signs of failure, I am going to replace the MAF sensor and see what we get from there.

Re: 2001 Ford F150 - 4.2L VIN 2 Lean
I will honestly say that no, I have not checked for alcohol. I assumed that fuel content would not be an issue since he has had this problem for over a full year. He puts a decent amount of driving on this, including out of town, so he is not refueling at the same station either. Good thought tho! T...

Re: 2001 Ford F150 - 4.2L VIN 2 Lean
Fuel system test this afternoon shows KOER pressure at 32 PSI. Spec says 28-45. So I am within spec there. MAF tests good. Can't find any vac leaks. This is one confusing truck. All data shows things are fine, but the lean condition code still exists for both banks. I know it is POSSIBLE, but never ...

2003 Nissan Maxima - Stall, Low Power, Hesitation
Customer has brought me a strange condition. Vehicle runs fine most of the time. Then will stumble, hesitate, and stall out. It is intermittent, but consistent, if that makes sense. There is no apparent pattern. It may be 20 minutes of running, then suddenly it starts to stumble, and sometimes will ...

Re: 2001 Ford F150 - 4.2L VIN 2 Lean
Obviously I am going by what the customer has told me, and the receipts in the glove box, but so far all work has been done at the dealer. He has had it in 4 times over the past 14 months with both banks lean. Every time they have either replaced the manifold (TSB) or replaced the gaskets. A propane...

Re: 2001 Ford F150 - 4.2L VIN 2 Lean
MAF is right on the money. at 4000 rpm, I need 134 g/s, which converts to .297 pounds/s (my scanner was set to pps) and I was getting .3. I am wanting to check fuel pressure, but according to Mitchell it shows that the test port is on the fuel rail, but I have looked and can't find it? Any ideas?

They installed the revised manifold from what I have been told. As for the fuel pressure, I will have to look at the diagnostic sheet. Will post that soon.

2001 Ford F150 - 4.2L VIN 2 Lean
I am wanting to put this out there before I get too far in depth. I have done some general inspections, but nothing is obvious. Vehicle is a 2001 Ford F150, with the 4.2L V8 (Vin 2) engine. He has had a history of both banks lean and has been taking it back to the same dealership for the past year. ...

Re: 2003 Saturn Vue - 3.0L Valve Tapping
My apologies for being so late in responding. The customer declined any further tear down to inspect the cylinder wall issue. However I did notice after a deeper inspection that the head gasket was not installed correctly. It was upside down. This meant that the oil passage from the block to the hea...

Re: special discounts
FOR OTHER SHOP OWNERS WISHING TO CONTRIBUTE: I may be wrong, but from what I have gathered, I have no way to set up a pre-designated type where all parts get auto-billed at cost +10? I would have to do it manually each time? I was hoping that all I would have to do is just create a work order for th...

Re: special discounts
OK< will look into that. How would I charge labor though, without having a tech "get paid" for it. I an doing the work myself, so I don't want any of the accounting to show that I get any money. Basically we are setting it up where they get MY time for free, but since the car is in the shop and usin...

Special Discounts?
I am looking at getting "special" discounts for family members, and employees. What I want is to get the parts prices to reflect cost plus 10%, and the labor to be "shop" labor. What I mean by this is: Our shop labor rate is $50 per hour. Tech pay is $20. I want to have it where the family member pa...

Need Help ASAP; Payment Error!
Not sure what happened, but when I was posting a payment, I realized I had forgotten to print the invoice PRIOR to accepting payment (Company procedure) I canceled payment, then printed the pre-pament invoice. I selected "pay/post invoice" and entered in correct payment amount. It then asked if I wa...

Re: Viewing Deleted Orders
A similar question that I have: If a ticket went to an RO status, it gets a number assigned to it that carries through to invoice status. If while in RO status, the customer decided not to do the work, and we deleted the RO, will that RO/invoice number be reused? I am asking because we watned to fin...

Database corrections?
I am not sure where to put this, so I figured I would post here. Where do we go, or post, if we find an error in the database information for a vehicle? Specifics are that in the "repair" section for a 1st generation (1996 to 2004) Toyota Tacoma with automatic transmission, the database says that th...

Re: 2003 Saturn Vue - 3.0L Valve Tapping
Customer has decided to not take a chance on anything and to go ahead and replace the engine. If I don't have a core charge I'm going to keep it and disassemble it. Thanks for the input everyone.
