With trailers I put 1 for the first invoice and every subsequent invoice I will go up by one digit.

If you go to the customer tab and a click the "Tax" button at the bottom left of the screen you can set them as non taxable and enter a tax license number. That will take care of any future invoices. I usually skip the estimate phase all together unless it is someone I don't know and want to go through things by the book with signatures and all. For me the estimate isn't helpful and there are program features that rely on the RO stage (printed) to work right. But that is just me.

SO basically bolt on was not wanting to pay for the license and put Mitchell at risk over it. That is what I am getting out of this. I have heard those licences can be very expensive on a scale Bolt-On would be using it. I would have to imagine they couldn't do it without some sort of rate increase...

Rich - I can say as far as the data transfer that Bolt_On Technologies has done two data import for me over the year from M1 to Enterprise and 3 years later back to M!. They do a fantastic job. Yu may want to have your friend talk to them about it. It may be a huge time savings. Just a thought.
