Revision Strategy

Post by Rob@SD-AR »

What i do is use the revision tabs for every estimate that i make, and i don't transfer them to the order tab to create an estimate (with est#) until i have the car at the shop.
This is done for people that walk in wanting pricing on things, or phone calls, ect.

If i wrote a 'quote' for every estimate it would make things a ton harder in the long run, and make a mess of everything.

Customer calls "Can i have an estimate?"
Get the last name, first name, and phone if they are new.
Get the vehicle info needed,
click on Order, but don't add anything,
click on Revision, and create an estimate using the revision screen.

This will allow you to save 9 estimates and pull it up all in one place.
If the customer wants to set up an appointment for that work,
click on the Order tab, and Make a note on what work will be done.
Click on Options at the bottom right, and click on Schedule to setup an appt for it.

When the car comes in for the appointment then either copy and paste the revision or go to the revision(s) and use the Sell Revision button to transfer everything to the Order.

Mine is always on at the top. View...toolbars...show toolbar. keeps everything right at the top of the screen. Hope this helps. Jeff.
