PO Dates For Inventory Control?

Post by imburnsey »

I know inventory control for reconciling our purchase orders ahs always been lacking. We have been able to work around credits and returns so our POs for each vender can come out correctly on a report for a given billing cycle. Now that 6.5 is here, the date for a PO is fixed. In the past we could adjust both dates on a PO. This was helpful because many credits do not arrive until after the first of the month. Could this be fixed back to where both dates are editable again?

I'll give this a bump.....

I'm sure there were valid reasons for fixing the date on PO's.

What I have come up with is to create a po using a return memo number. Add the parts to the list, (of course with negative dollar amounts since Mitchell has not figured out a return part po system, then leave the po open until it actually goes through. If it does not go through until the next month, just remove the parts, delete the po and open a new one.

Well now that method is not working either. When running reports, they take the closed date of the P.O. as the date for searching which is now no longer editable.
