Ford FIPM Remans

Post by steven kiser »

A tip i thought i would pass along. I had a truck in here that the FIPM burned up. It was blowing the 40 amp fuse. You can go through all the tests you want but i just take the unit and remove the access panel for the chip and if it's junk you can smell it. It will smell burned. The point is that many of the remans are coming through programmed and are install and go. If the dealer doesn't sell many and the one on the shelf has been there for a while it probably will need to be programmed but if you purchase it from a dealer that works on a lot of trucks you're all set. It's a little secret that a Ford Hot Shot told me. I installed and away we went.
never argue with a fool, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
