Looking for some insight and possible same experience.
2008 GMC Acadia
Steering assist will almost go away about 1/2 turn from steering stop either direction. Can forcibly steer through it. Steers fine straight or slight turn. Fluid is full and clean. First attempt to duplicate issue only occurred at about 1200-1500 rpm, however, have gotten it to fail at idle in park also. Belt is good and tension is ok.
Did not pressure test pump but our suspicision is a pump issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue on these or like vehicles?

That's the way i would lean. Make sure there is an idle up when turning the wheel at a stop and i would look into tsb Bulletin No.: 06-02-32-013B.
never argue with a fool, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
