2 things come to mind. Broken accumulator spring and TCC locked during shift.
Uncle PETA said I could come back.

Ya id suspect lockup but im no where near an expert on trannies.

how many miles? if mileage dictates this may be an r&r. i agree with william but will add, if it were me and i dropped the pan and found a debris pile i would yank it and put a jasper unit in it. we do a lot of power train work but have gotten away from rebuilding ourselves. years ago we'd tear into a transmission and repair it and what started happening was something else would crap out and suddenly i owned the transmission or lost a customer.

does or did this thing have a performance chip or shift on the fly programmer?

jasper has a monster trans for this beast.
