I 've got an 03 ram 3500 van 5.9 no start.
None of the gauges work and the odometer reads no bus. Also no communication with scanner. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks. Paul

You have a module that has shorted the BUS line or the BUS line is shorted to chassis somewhere. Begin by unplugging the cluster and see if you get communication. I believe the cluster is the BUS temination. If you get no comm. unplug modules 1 at a time till you can communicate. Plug each module back in as you go along. It is drawn out but thats how we had to do it when I worked for Mopar. HTH. Jeff
I missed the no start on your post. Start with the Pcm and see if the other modules communicate. Then go to the cluster.

another quickie here. disconnect the battery and wait about 5 minutes. reconnect and see what happens. i'veposted on occasion that for some reason we've found that if the battery isn't 100% it causes things like this to happen. if battery is marginal or anything but 100% replace it. if it's original,it's time. on a few occasins i've run into the secondary wire coming off the positive lug corroded internally. good luck.

Checked all powers and grounds on pcm, all ok, have 5v reference. Scanner will communicate with abs and air bag, not with pcm or bcm. I have removed cluster, makes no difference

Did you get comm after you disconnected the cluster? I would plug the cluster back in and see if you can still communicate with the abs and air bag. If so the lean towards pcm. If not lean to the cluster. Odds are it will be the pcm due to the no start.
