Inventory Part Checkbox?

Post by GUTHTIRE »

I had off over the weekend, other folks covering up front...came in on Monday and now it appears that the Inventory Part checkbox is defaulted as checked. This creates a bit of havoc on the Inventory Part Sales report. I don't recall the checkbox as being checked in the past...perhaps I'm wrong. Is there a global setting to turn it back off/un-check it. (I'll check it when I want it checked  )

That shouldn't be possible. If you would, check on an estimate or RO. What happens when you hit the Parts button? Until you fill in information that causes it to match an inventory record, that box should be unchecked.

For example, if I add a part number that doesn't match anything in my inventory, this is how that window looks:

If I do type in numbers that match inventory, you'll see the box get checked, and the Part No. and Description grey out.

Did someone add a bunch of parts to inventory that you didn't want?

It's possible that a bunch of parts were entered. I'm still trying to come up with a consistent test case. All that I know is the Parts Inventory report shows a bunch of stuff that shouldn't be there.

If they were receiving parts to orders from PO's and accidentally checked the 'create inventory item' box, that may explain the new inventory.

Thanks for the response. Guess I need to monitor things a little more closely.

Good call Ric, this was the problem...just took a little to find the checkbox.

Remember, there are times this can happen even when that box is not checked, so watch how you receive PO's
