F6 Start Menu License Field

I noticed today the license field of the F6 start menu only has 8 characters while the Vehicle license field has 9. This makes it hard to start a new order using a 9 digit license plate. F3 allows 10 digits.

Where are 9 character plates coming from? I didn't think we had any states using more than 8.

Well that may be, but we see hundreds of vehicles with no plate at all and we have a nine digit code to identify them (requested by the customer). We can certainly change it up, but the inconsistency between vehicle plate number, F5 search and F3 search is not helping.

Ah. We do have a few UI / Database values that aren't the same. Not sure when the divergence occurred, but hopefully we can get these cleaned up someday.

LOL. It's gotta be pretty good software if all we can complain about is something like this.
