Appointment Confirmation

Is there a way to have a confirmation email that would allow us to send a response when we get an email request for an appointment? We just recently switched from a competitors CRM and we had a confirmation, and edit request button. If the scheduled day or time was not conducive to our schedule we could then start the dialogue and edit a response. Also it would be nice if once we confirmed the appointment it would automatically add it to our schedule.
