Invoices printed to PDF get cut off

Post by Pauls Automotive »

I am having a problem with invoices I print to PDF in order to email to customers. The mileage get cut off on the right side. Is anyone seeing this. I am not sure if it is Mitchel, crystal reports or Adobe

What template are you using? I'll try it here. I assume you print to screen then use the export button via pdf?

I have not had this problem Paul, but I have had trouble since switching to 8.0 when printing more than one invoice...either the first or the second copy comes out with the whole bottom signature box and totals box blank. Like a blank 3 inch strip right above the bottom of the page. Just part of the disclaimer is visible. When you re-print the mis-print, It comes out fine. Its just on the first try printing.

Paul,

You can experience strange results based on the printer driver. There are two ways to generate a PDF from a Manager document. You can print to screen and export as Ric was mentioning. This is an Export of Crystal Reports to PDF. It tends to work best with your actual printer selected for printing.

The other option you might check is using a PDF creator for a printer. I've not kept track, but there used to be a lot of free ones like PDF Creator, CutePDF, etc.

You might test both methods and see if one doesn't work better for you.

As it turns out it is a Bolt-On problem. It only happens when Report Pro printer is selected. I am now trying to get them to look into this.

Thanks for the update. That's what I was getting at with the printer driver - a real one tends to work fine, BoT's virtual printer or XPS document writer tend to have some anomalies. Glad you're getting it squared away!
