Edit Inventory Description

Should be Able To Edit Inventory Description With Changing What's on Card. We Used To Able To Do This. This Would Be Good To Be Able To Show A Part Was used On Rt Or Left Side.

The program logic has historically considered the Description as part of the unique part record along with part number.

If you un-check the Inventory Part checkbox, you gain access to edit the Description, however if you do change it, the program will ask you if to choose an option from the dialog box shown below. Your option is either YES - to let Manager SE create a new part record based on your change(s) OR NO - which doesn't create a new record but ALSO un-checks the Inventory Part box once again. You'll sell the part with the modified Description but the part will not be subtracted from inventory because it now sees this as something different. I'd recommend having two part numbers for RH/LH items which I have to think occurs much of the time anyways.

So how exactly would such modified part numbers display on reports?

They Would Show Up As What The Inventory Card Discrpition. The Change Would Only Affect The Customer Invoice. That Is How It Used To Work In Mitchell. When We Could Change It.

Nope, in Series II, Manager Plus 5.x and ManagerSE Plus (All had inventory) , a user cannot edit the description of an inventoried part while in the Part Item Edit window
