2004 Ford Ranger - 4.0L TC Tensioner Time?

Post by Tim Martin »

How long does it take to replace the right timing chain tensioner on a 04 Ranger with a 4.0L SOHC? My Mitchell1 is not saying. This is the one at the rear of the right cylinder head.

Thanks for checking, men. I appreciate the feedback. My estimator is giving the time for a 2.3L 4 cylinder but not for the 4.0L SOHC engine.

Thanks again.

Yea yer right. If the timing chain has an issue then the engine has to come out. But in this case, i got a tensioner that is leaking past the seal and was wondering what the time is on it since this job is done under warranty for another company. Hopefully the chain will not jump when I remove the tensioner.
