Vehicle Status Updates?
Vehicle Status Updates?
Curious, are there any plans in the works to have vehicle 'status' pushed to customers? IE, in service, waiting for parts, vehicle completed?

Re: Vehicle Status Updates?
Thanks for the questions and responses.
Though there are a number of requests for different changes to the status function, I did not find one similar to the request made here to send status updates direct to the customer.
As an service adviser, I prefer being in control of sending any notifications to a customer.
Using Message Manager I have built template messages to send to a customer for different status updates such as "[CustomerName] your [Vehicle] is currently being checked. We will contact you with the results shortly. [ShopName] [ShopNumber]." I named this "In Process". With a couple of clicks the customer is aware.
You can build other templates for other status changes. My one issue with automated status updates is confusion with a customer for example on a parts hold. They may panic not knowing that the part is on the way and the vehicle will still be complete by day's end.
Just the same, I will enter a request for this feature.

Re: Vehicle Status Updates?
I have to agree with Bolt On on this. Automatic notification pushing as to status could be problematic. I would hope Bolt-On would provide a way to turn this feature off if they choose to provide it.
