Re: Hide Old and/or Closed Appointments

Post by timbre4 »

Let's keep anything about Schedule here in this section.

Yes, this was discussed very recently, the ability to filter out closed business, etc. without deleting appointment data so there would be less to plow through.

Symptoms On Scheduler

Post by VCAC239 »

I think it would be nice to also display symptoms on the schedule along with the canned jobs. Thank-you, Jeremy

Agreed. It's on the list.

I moved this to the SE 7.0 Scheduler topic to keep it with the rest of Schedule discussions.

It would be great if the scheduler new what time it is. It knows the date, but not the time. It thinks it is 9:am all day long.

[Scheduler] Add SW to Appt

Post by murraymotive »

Showing the service writer from 'Default Settings' on the appointment detail window.

We are fumbling over ourselves a bit when having 4 SWs making appointments. We use to put initials in the description box but space is a premium when over 10+ appointments.

How about putting the SW initials in the subject line?

A couple of things; when you open the schedule and make it full screen, when you then close and reopen - it opens in full screen. The schedule shows the current time with an indicator bar- see red arrow below

I'm also working on two new reports; 'Scheduled Events Summary' - a simple one line for each event and 'Scheduled Events Technician Summary'. Watch for them this week here.

I can barely see that time indicator. No one here could either. I think it needs to be a little more prominent. :)

Good suggestion but we are trying to prevent the subject line from kicking to two lines, if at all possible, for the same reasons... SPACE & LEGIBILITY! :D :D

Appointment States colors

Post by D J »

Friends,
Just installed the 7.07 upgrade and we're still trying to get used to the Scheduler. Many things I like about it, some things I don't.
One problem that we have encountered is not being able to change the colors on the appointment states. It may not seem like a big deal but my boss is colorblind with certain colors and thus can't see the difference between an RO that is closed or one that has just arrived. The colors certainly help with the workflow but it would be even better if we could set the colors ourselves.

I would buy someone a whole lot of beers if we had options to turn things on/off -- in this case, order hours & scheduled hours. This is what our schedule looks like most days. :( Unreadable.

Can we make it so that all day events keep their assigned color bar on the side?

Can we make it so that shop events do not count for the total scheduled hours?

In the resources view, can we make each of those fields (resources) adjustable in width?

I can think of occasions where I WANT shop events to count against available hours. A shop meeting comes to mind.

Maybe it can be optional. Otherwise, you can create a customer named "Shop meeting" and schedule it whenever you want.

Problem I have is that I have no way to put a note on the schedule without it adding to the total of hours at the bottom of the screen. I type in a note for the day, make it an all day event to move it to the top out of the way and it adds 10 hours to the scheduled hours. Today we have three different notes, so we have 30 hours on the schedule plus the customers that are coming in.

Is there a way I can put notes in there without it adding to the total hours?

Use Shop Event, but set the start and end times to the same time. That way it will not add any hours.

Have you tried doing that? I just did it, the shop event vanished from the day completely. It still shows up in shop events, but it is gone from scheduling.

We make it an all day event so it stands out as a note on the top, otherwise it just blends in to the 15 appointments I have coming in at 8:00 am.

Mine do not disappear. Remember that a shop event day defaults to the current day, so if you are on some day in the future and you click on Shop Event, you won't get that day you are on, but rather today's date.

Oh I see what I did. I made it from 715 to 715, but our business hours start at 730. So it didn't show up.

My issue is that the box is so small it mingles with the other appointments and will get missed. So I make it an all day event and it adds the 10 hours.

Some things I love about the new scheduler but I just wish I could see everything at a glance on one screen without going cross eyed.

Add a state that you've set up with a color. In fact, you can make a state called NOTE and give it a unique color.

I'm not a fan of the way colors are applied, BTW. I believe the whole box, or at least the entire outline should be colored. The little strip down the side is very hard to distinguish.

The more feedback provided here, the more chance of improvements in the future.

I did this. But, a lot of our loaners are out for two days or more for larger jobs. So when the appointment goes into the next day it bumps to the top and the color code goes away. Unless there is a way around that and I haven't found it. I guess I could make a second appointment for the following day. It is just easier to reserve a loaner using a shop event and set the dates to whatever I need.
