Warranty of Consignment Parts

It is not a good idea to warranty a consignment part in Enterprise Pro because in many cases the Supplier of the consigned part will not issue a full refund to the shop on a failed part, but instead

will provide the replaced part at a reduced rate. If this is the case, then be sure not update the cost on the inventory card so next time you "replenish" the cost will remain at the original cost.

Note: Updating the cost on the inventory material card for warrantied consigned part can prove to be difficult to troubleshoot if not caught and next consignment slip is created.


If you do have a Supplier who will issue full refund for the failed consigned part, it is not recommended that you use the warranty option in the system unless the Supplier requests a warranty slip.
