Why do we need to select the vehicle CarFax Plate Vin Decode

Because not all VINs can be decoded to ACES vehicle specification, and in some cases the CARFAX's VIN decoding service will only be able to provide generic text based specification and not ACES and that's when the system will provide the decoded results in both ePart Expert and CARFAX so that the user can pick manually.
If the decoding service can decode to the ACES vehicle specification then we simply present a list to choose from if there's more than one matching entry. If it decodes to one then the system will prompt to accept the result.
