Imagine that a Service Advisor could have a small appliance he plugs into the diagnostic port and utilizes it to identify the vehicle and gather data (including codes where supported) from every vehicle that pulls up to your shop; please choose the answer that best describes your reaction to this idea. [4 choices above]

I voted but would change if there was more clarity in the question. As of right now I can scan the vin on my I phone and there is an application where I can attach a cable and read codes. I'm sure if I were more computer savvy there would be a way to down load right into Mitchell. I'm still waiting for a link from my Snap On scanner to Mitchell. I purchased a Verus with that in mind but I still haven't seen a direct link.

I voted and I'm with Steve - would there be an easy transfer of data to the Mitchell program?

There's not much more detail to share right now, I'd say that easy transfer is one of the prime features.

:!: Now if you could come up with a tool that would reliably reset all those pesky oil life & maintenance lights - you would really have something

I'm feeling your anguish all the way to NH on this. :D

I'd think we'd use this feature/tool alot here. (even if it didn't to resets)

If this would be an easy "app" to use I would be all over it. Walk to customer car, plug in get codes and VIN, enter miles, color, plate. walk back in, transfer wirelessly.....

Even if the customer wasn't complaining about the Codes it would be great to have them automatically put onto RO. This way you can look back when the customer says "the light just came on" you could see in history that it had that code for 6 months. Right now we don't scan each car when we see a CEL.

Woah, I scan every car especially if there is a light on or a drive issue. Have found stored lean codes and replaced partially plugged filter and the car ran like new. I would love to take a car on a test drive with my I phone plugged in, scan the vin when I get out, Press send and have it automatically load into Mitchell. Even better, Load and be able to order parts while still in the car.

I should have stated this.

MY issue with fax/email is NOT, I repeat NOT an issue on behalf of Mitchell1.

This issue is on our end. We lack the knowledge to set it up, and it has yet to be a priority to make it work. My Comment was in NO WAY against Mitchell.

However, if one of the tech guys happen to fly into Big Rapids for a fishing trip please look me up. I will buy you lunch........ :D
