Easy Appointment Confirmation

If you're like me, you get appointments electronically. And I'm willing to bet you confirm these with an email as that's how they typically come. I've been freehand typing mine. I suppose you could create a canned email too. Today I thought I would leverage the built in texting in Manager. This is cool.

First, we make an estimate in Manager for every appointment, but even if you don't, you will likely use the scheduler in Manager. In the open window for the appointment, there is a little 'Text' button.

Click on this and you'll see I created a special text for appointment confirmations.

Click on the Appointment Confirmation and you get this text.

You can now click on send. To recap, one click on Text, a second click on Appointment Confirmation and a final click on Send. That was easy!

And below is the configuration I made to get the fields in the right places.

I think this is much easier than typing out an email response, and it can easily be used as a follow up to a phone appointment too. You WILL be in this window if you use the Scheduler.

Any way to tie that in with Bolt-On's Message Manager?
If we only use Bolt-On for texting does it make sense to switch to Mitchell's texting?

You can use Bolt-On for this, but it's a bit clunky.

Open Message Manager. Click on Calendar. Click on the day the new appointment was made (you'll need to remember this). Double click on the customer name on that day. Now a texting window opens and you can send the message. Some of the wildcards that Manager has are not included in Bolt-On, so you won't get the exact same message setup. If you have the order open and not the appointment window, you can click on the ProPack button, then Message Manager and text from the resulting window. That's assuming you made an order; many people don't.

I'd consider switching IF I were only using the text feature. It's well integrated into Manager.

Thanks, this is really useful and I never knew this was possible. I save my base message but always go back and add their names and dates.

Those are available as wildcards so you don't have to add them manually every time; unless you want to. :D
