POLL: What's Your Forum Usage?
Please vote on the choice that best describes your own forum usage pattern.
I particularly need to hear from those who READ the forum but never post so that I can have a more accurate view of what we're doing here. I'll copy this into a forum mass email so that all registered members see it, even our long-lost friends who could be unlocking more potential with us.
If you're not a forum member and would like to vote, this would be a great time to register.

Re: POLL: Your Forum Usage
I voted. I have to post this. If not, a few weeks/months from now, I will try to vote again and not be able to. This is a sure fire way I will not email Tim whinning that I can't vote. He then takes a few moments out of his precious time to finger out I already voted. I have sometimers.

Re: POLL: Your Forum Usage
Just got this back from my mass email (all registered members):
"I don’t remember my user name and password into the forum. That would make me a #7 in your poll!"

Sorry Tim, but I'm not shocked by the number of voters.
Maybe we can have an over/under for total votes?

Hey! I care too. I'm just now able to vote today though. Still trying to play catch up on posts I hadn't had a chance to read yet.

Re: POLL: Your Forum Usage
Realizing that we do have a number of members who would vote for options #4, #5, #6 & #7, I did also send a mass email to all registered (3000+) members so that they could be sure to vote. (or ask how to get back into the forum!)
It's human nature in a group; some segment (%) of folks are going to be very active but many more are going to watch. I want to see those folks confirm this is how they use the fourm!
I've got to think getting 50-100 votes would be reasonable to accomplish, I'll never know how many of the mass emails got tossed or blocked by spam filters. Mass emails are plain text only (better chance of getting through) but you never know.

Re: POLL: Your Forum Usage
Yes but it would be nice to know there are people at least reading the posts from time to time even if we never hear a peep out of them. Shops who use Mitchell1 or ShopKey can get so much more out of their software subscription by logging into the forum sometime. It's become so much more to me than learning to use Mitchell1. It's a learning experience much broader than that! I may comment mostly in the Clubhouse section but I do read all the other posts & have learned alot from how to deal with customers better to protecting the shop on the legal side. Thanks to all of you that work hard to keep this forum going!

Thats why they put the comics in an obscure section of the news paper, so you have to read the headlines first!amwade3715 wrote:Yes but it would be nice to know there are people at least reading the posts from time to time even if we never hear a peep out of them. I am with Angie. If I had more tech info to share i'd do it in a heartbeat. But being i am a DUFF i am not filled with knowledge of fixing cars. And I am not claiming to be a computer tech wizard. I do best i can, but often think i am just a stalker in the shadows.

Re: POLL: Your Forum Usage
i'll swap my knowledge on cars for management tips any time. if it runs on gas, dsl, propane, lng, etc i can repair it. if it has to be powered up or rebooted not so much............... i can walk by a car or truck while it's running and tell by listening to it pretty much what's going on. the others in the shop can tell by listening if i'm having a problem wih the shop operation system . sometimes the members that feel they have the least to add ask questions and get answers to issues i never would have thought of and when i impliment them are a plus to my management system. i remember when i first started posting tina asked for a pdf. i thought "what in the hell is a pdf". i thought when i was reading about it in the posts it meant pretty damn funny. no wonder it really never fit grammatically into the scentence. .
never argue with a fool, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
