2003 Ford TBird - V8 No Acceleration

Post by Frank Panipinto »

Greetings all! Customer complaint is no power or acceleration randomly. It will idle, but
won't get out of its own way. The little wrench light is on and there are 2 DTC's - P2107
and P2110 - both Throttle Assembly codes. The car is misfiring during each episode, but
there are NO MISFIRE CODES. A check of Mode $06 data with Snap-On red brick and Auto
Enginuity software on a laptop shows absolutely no problems. Identifix lists a dozen or more
same symptoms that had bad coils. Tried identifying which cylinder by pulling injector
connectors, however that got a weird response - most cylinders did not show any response
when disconnected. Anyone run across this before or have a suggestion or two?

Frank,

I would concentrate on those TB codes first. Errors in thottle control can and will cause misfires. I have the steps here and can fax if you'd like.

Any and all help would be appreciated, Ric. My fax machine and server both failed. Will be working on that tonight. Any chance of emailing info?

Yup. The P2110 may lead to that.
