2005 Dodge 1500 - Throttle Pedal Replacement

2005 Dodge Ram 1500, 4X2. Sensor 2 in the throttle position sensor failed. Replaced pedal/sensor assembly but the same result is present. Dealer claims it has to be reset by them as the ETC sets all of the voltages and the like. Really? Who has dealt with this before and is a reset by the dealer nec...

Re: OVERHEATING 5.9L -- 1996

As I stated before, I compared the gauge to the coolant temp sensor for the ECM and it corresponded with the gauge. So yes, it is running hot. Also, as stated before, we have used water to try to cool the radiator, driven without AC operating, and yes, we see water flow (no thermostat). Head gasket ...

Re: OVERHEATING 5.9L -- 1996

Not that can be detected. I would think that if it was combustion and the leak is to small to detect, the cooling system would be able to keep up and keep it cool. Especially without a thermostat and water on the radiator. I'm thinking head gasket myself, but no evidence except for the over heat. Th...

1996 Dodge Ram B2500 - 5.9L Overheating

We have a '96 Ram Van B2500 with an overheating problem. We installed a fan clutch at the customers request. He was sure that was the problem. So--New Fan Clutch, New Radiator last year, New Water Pump, Replaced Thermostat and now removed so no thermostat, Flushed entire system, checked radiator flo...

Re: 2004 BMW 745Li - Oil Consumption

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you on this topic. With all of your suggestions, I am going to refer this vehicle to a shop with more experience on these vehicles. Customer satisfaction is more important than saving face. It's out of our spectrum of expertise.

Thanks for your advice.

2004 BMW 745Li - Oil Consumption

'04 BMW is using oil. After vehicle has been idling for a short time as if at a stop light. Upon acceleration, blue smoke can be seen. Typically we would suspect valve stem seals, and I have seen this problem with PCV systems as well. But on this particular vehicle, I am suspicious that it may be so...

2002 Mercury Villager - Crankshaft Sensor

This vehicle is the same as a Nissan Quest. 3.3L motor. The CKP is triggered off of the flywheel/flexplate (auto trans). My question is this-- What on the flywheel is used to identify TDC #1 for the sensor? As we all know, usually there is a wider gap between triggers or a larger trigger tooth. This...

2005 Dodge Neon - Camshaft Sensor Code

I thought for sure there would have been a post about this. 2005 Neon with the Camshaft Sensor code present. The customer has replaced the camshaft sensor twice in the last 25K miles. (different shop) I see these failures regularly but not this consistant. Has anyone found a good reason for the fail...

Re: 2002 Lexus RX300 - Yaw Rate Sensor

I did locate the sensor between the rear seat and the trunk. A pain to get to. I recalibrated the sensor previous to accessing. Code was still present. I removed the sensor, checked wires, connections and resistances and all checked good. Re-installed the sensor and the code was gone. I can only ass...

Re: 2006 Ford F150 - 5.4L Oil Consumption

Had the discussion with the customer and advised. He will monitor and manage the consumption and see if it gets worse.

The vehicle isn't due for a tune up and removing plugs may produce additional expense due to the fact that this engine is equiped with the "super plug".

Thanks for your input.

Re: 06 F150 5.4L Oil Consumption

Yes, regular customer. There doesn't seem to be a valve of any kind in the PCV hose or tube. I am not sure how the heated PCV works. I need to study it a bit.

Could be rings. Any other ideas?

2006 Ford F150 - 5.4L Oil Consumption

Customer complains of oil consumption of 1 qt./ 1000 miles. Vehicle has 60K miles. Engine is not equiped with a PCV valve but a PCV heater and the tube and heater seem to have excess oil in them which leads me to believe it is entering through this tube.

Anyone else have this concern? Any ideas?

No Kidding! I tried all of the normal procedures and nothing resets the light. I couldn't seem to find a procedure with Mitchell either.

Can someone help me out here?

Thanks

Re: 1997 Saturn SL2 - Service Light--Fixed

The light was not related to the computer in anyway. All I can figure is it is a warning light indicating something is wrong with the vehicle, but no references regarding a "Service" light. I scanned all modules and no codes stored in any of them. Problem turned out to be a bad Maxi Fuse, 30amp, whi...
