Re: ProDemand: Enter a Tip?

I need to educate myself with Suretrack. I never have spent anytime with it and when I do go to it I do not understand how to search for answers. I do have an individual account setup and that all works ok. Where do these tips end up? In ProDemand or in Suretrack? Are the tips I see in ProDemand fr...

We don't share any technology with Napa. We can suggest to management that they look into this though.

Re: ProDemand SureTrack Access?

As Tim says, with your ProDemand subscription you get full access to SureTrack. You don't need to log into it separately in order to see and search all of the content, including all of the community posts, but you do need to create a user account in order to ask questions, respond to questions, shar...

Click the link for "All Submodels" instead of LE or SE.

Jeff @ Able Auto wrote:I tried to add in sure track but it wanted engine cid and only offered 3.0 and 3.3 v6. I will try again. Thanks.
Only the Base model has the 2.4L so when it asks for the submodel, pick "All Submodels", then the 2.4 will be an option.

Re: 1999 Dodge Caravan Alternator R&R

Jeff, As Tim mentioned, at this time you can't post tips directly in ProDemand like you could in OnDemand. But you can share your tip in SureTrack. We're working on integrating the two more completely but don't have a timeline for when it will be complete. Below are the instructions for adding a tip...

Re: SMART CAR

I just looked up a 2010 Smart ForTwo in OnDemand and there is repair, tire and maintenance information. Being a Mercedes product it is a little tougher to get information for than other manufacturers. If there is something more specific you're looking for, please let us know.

Re: 2010 VW Routan - Which Oil?

I think this is an error in the sytem. The TSB in question does not apply to the Routan. I will submit this for review with our Maintenance department.

Re: 2002 Chev Trailblazer - Front Diff Labor

Here is the response from the Labor group:

The procedures are essentially the same for the Front Differential or the Oil Pan replacement. The Mitchell labor estimating time for Front Differential Assembly - R&R will be adjusted to match the Oil Pan - R&R.

Re: Specifications Index Top 10 - Comments

ok, here's my input on this. there are so many shops that are looking for quick reference to make it virtually impossible to be a hero... This says more than you know. We're always running to try and satisfy the loudest group of techs and sometimes that causes problems for the rest of them. I'm alw...

Re: Specifications Index Top 10 - Comments

Also for those who responded with "firing order", what are you actually looking for? Firing order is the most searched phrase in the product and easily found. But what we found was that people were actually looking for something else, such as the cylinder identification or plug wire routing. We adde...

Re: Specifications Index Top 10 - Comments

Matt,

The wheel lug nut torque is listed in the Specifiacations Index articles that Tim mentions in his first post.

A question I would have is when do you need specs for the current model year cars. 2010s are out, when do you start seeing them in your shops?

Re: 2006-up Toyota RAV4 V6 Spark Plugs

Our labor time is based on the OEM repair procedure. Toyota recently upped their labor time to 1.1 hours but haven't changed the procedure, the same all the way up to 2009. This is why this came up. A tech was concerned that in the future one of his customers was going to have a big repair bills to ...

Re: 2006-up Toyota RAV4 V6 Spark Plugs

John,

That's helpful anyways. Would it be possible to get a picture showing the rear head in relation to the firewall? Especially with the dress-up cover removed. I assume this is where the conflict is as you'd have to be able to get the coil assembly out without hitting the firewall.

2006-up Toyota RAV4 V6 Spark Plugs

Any experience with removing the ignition coils and/or spark plugs on a V6 RAV4? I'm the manager of the tip system in OnDemand5.com/ShopKey5.com and it came up over there. Toyota's procedure requires removing the engine to get the rear plugs out but supposedly it can be done without doing that. Same...
