Re: Digital Inspection Branding - XOXO Car vs Your Shop

I'm hoping that more shop owners will add their vote and comments to this thread. Your viewpoint is welcome.

Re: Digital Inspection Branding - XOXO Car vs Your Shop

Attention Bolt-On: Here is a solution I could live with: 1. Take the XOXO car branding off the front page. If you need it anywhere, put it in the flyout menu where the contact shop button is. My true preference be for Bolt-On to use another more generic branding approach - IE: "myrepairshop.com" I w...

Digital Inspection Branding - XOXO Car vs Your Shop

Today Bolt-On Technology introduced a new digital inspection format. I am interested in hearing what other shop owners are thinking of this, therefore the poll. The way I see it, the overall design of the inspection is good - the filmstrip view is great - the swipe to advance to next picture is grea...

Re: Customer Screen: Change 1st Phone Default to Cellular

+1 on this request. We started using Manager over 17 years ago. At the time, home and office were the best defaults...who could have ever seen how cell phones would take over. I would really like to be able to make Cell my first entry field without messing up the database! Right now I always have to...

Re: Repairlink Not Working Properly

Yeah the "improvements" aren't progress are they. All the extra vehicle qualifiers when the VIN should supply that info. I am especially frustrated by the "blank screen" phenomenon. The illustration will be blank white or gray and I can see the shading behind the illustration numbers but no image is...

Re: How to alter Invoice appearance

Ric is right. And there is yet an easier way. Install the report pro "virtual printer" from inside of report pro. Go to M1 print config page and set the printer for your invoice to "Report Pro". Inside of report pro make sure your quick report is set up (as Ric pointed out). Now from inside of M1 yo...

Re: Paid on Account

Sadly, it seems that card processing option has been taken out of the F5 menu in the current version of software. Something about an incompatibility with one of the card processors (may have been X-Charge but I can't remember for sure) and not applying payments correctly. This has caused me a lot of...

Re: Message Manager and the Enter Key

I'm with Ric on wishing the Enter key would send the message. On other messaging programs, for instance Verizon Message+, the enter key sends the message. No need for "carriage return" with word wrap built into programs. I would like if Enter would send the message. An alternate idea might be to use...

Re: Multiple Recipients

Good idea from Ric here I think. I often text both numbers - husband and wife, mother and daughter, etc. So far I've had to copy and paste the message text. I would use this functionality.

Re: Option For 'Drop Off' To Follow Start Time?

I also have been flooded with phone calls for clients that are getting emails that their appointment is at 8:00 AM. Since we figured out that CRM started using the drop off field instead of the appointment time, I have tried to watch it. Sometimes I still miss it. We do lots of client waiting servic...

Re: Message Manager Polling Frequency

Hi Ric, One of Bolt-On's developers explained this to me the other day - apparently the system will idle for (I think) 20 minutes or so between polling for messages - unless you send a new outbound message, then it picks up the frequency for a while before it scales back. It's their effort to reduce...

Re: Dropbox backup?

Sure, DropBox would work, you can buy a business account with 1 TB of file storage. But why would you when Mitchell offers free daily offsite backup with their DPR program? A call to Tech Support, no expense to you, and a copy of your database is uploaded to M1 once a day, if I'm not mistaken. Gerald

7.0 Release Issues

There is an apparent change in default highlight when going to vehicle History tab in 7.0. My usual habit was to click on history and hit enter on the keyboard (the last invoice was always highlighted) to pop up the last visit. Now my habit is starts the email process (the blue highlight is on the e...

Re: Bolt On Reviews

You raise a good point. Average RO is important, but it's not everything. I would rather have five $300 repair orders in my shop than one $600 repair order. One of the things I have noticed that is most amazing, is the way that sending clients the inspection link to their phone involves them in the ...

Re: Password Protect HELP!!!

You need help, for sure. Others here may be able to point you in the direction of program security. I would say if your tech has access to the management system he needs to know what his boundaries are. If he is modifying RO's without permission that is an integrity issue and he would not have a job...

Re: Automated Followup Texts

I have been in contact with Bolt On's developer with ideas on this very thing, and I expect it will likely make it into the message manager pro program in the future. (my thoughts, they decide what makes it into their product) We talked of more a semi-automatic function, so the service advisor or sh...

Re: Sales Tax on Shop Repairs and Comebacks?

We are also in IL. I would suggest you invoice the parts (at cost, to shop vehicle) then set up a payment account called Internal - Shop or something like that, then use that payment account to mark the invoice paid. Then your sales tax will go on your normal report.

Re: Decoding Via Tags?

Just saw this post. We use the plate decoding functionality in Mobile Manager Pro every day I believe. It's a very useful feature - tech enters the plate and decodes it and Bingo! the VIN appears like magic in the database field in shop management.
