put new vvt sensors in...changed oil to correct weight...another shop put on new belt but seems to be installed right. was thinking the motor might just be worn out...lol...seems odd that cold its high compression and warm all cyl drop to same 40lbs

2000 Toyota Avalon - Compression Drop?
got a problem maybe you can help with....have a 2000 avalon with a 3.0
upon start up...it has 190psi of compression but after warm up drop to 40psi on each cyl. any ideas??

1998 Lexus ES300 - Steering Problem FIXED
installed new rack unit, p.s. pump. pressure hose and still have jerky steering. tested struts-ok never hard in the same spots. will turn easy then hard then easy again. thought maybe bad parts, so installed replacement parts again and still same problem. any ideas?? ps....thanks for the info all......

update to my problem....flushed and changed fluid to af+4 no difference....when at rest sound like a fluid restriction noise coming up thru the coloum.....everything is new and still there...lol...any more ideas?

replaced the motor due to head gasket leaking and blown and motor was knocking. replaced pump due to unknown noise. thought that might be it.

checked the lines, hooked up correct. cant cross different fittings. put on 2 pumps noise still there....drained fluid...no difference....never seen this before. lol....a first for my shop. short of changing the steering box, dont know why the noise is there.

used the old tensioner that came off the old motor. replaced everything else though....pump...lines...cooler. sounds like a hissing that travels up the column....it goes away the min you just think about turning the wheel.

Put in a new 5.7 motor; new power steering pump, pressure hose, cooler.
At rest position, the power steering makes a noise that travels up the columm. Turn the wheel just a short hair and noise is gone.
What is it??
