Re: 1965 Ford Mustang - Loping @ Idle?
I think steve's onto something. If when slowly covering the top of carb and idle smooths, could be vac leak or air/fuel mixture screw adjust. I've had lots of success in smoothing out an idle that way, can't be any vac leaks however. Keep us posted and good luck

Ive seen raw egg whites seal leaks as well. Bottom line is i would never use a sealer unless it was an emergency in the middle of nowhere

2001 Honda Civic EX 1.7L - Not Running Now FIXED
car ran well upon arrival. Put timing belt, valve cover gasket, spark plugs and fr struts, and had battery disconnected. After work was completed, the car starts and runs for about 3 seconds then cuts off. It will re-start and repeat every time as if the alarm system is active. Was hoping someone ha...

I'm thinking crank sensor. Had couple others here in the last couple years with similar issues, and both needed crank sensors. May need to just change and see, due to lack of frequency of symptom. Hate educated guesses but sometimes have little choice. Good luck and keep us posted as to the fix

You should be able to power balance with a scan tool (modis, verus etc). If not, try unplugging inj 1 by 1. If the shake doesn't increase with eng rpm then maybe Steve's on to something. Good luck

Yeah Steve, I was going to mention cracked cap, although what i re-rread looks like cap was replaced after tranny. I've seen them up against the fire wall with tranny out. Identifying the cylinder will certainly help

I believe the radio has more than one power supply. One for power with key on and one for memory, power always. If either one goes out then so will radio, just a thought.

Re: Bosch O2 sensors
Both sensors were new, and had the caps on the threads. The leads were even still folded and taped. I did see in identifix where there were several hits for similiar problems on the trucks, if I remember correctly. I am not bashing bosch and have used them in the past w/o problems. Just wont be usi...

I assume there are no vac leaks. Block learn should be about 128 if not mistaken. Does eng get up to temp? (t-stat) Is ect reading properly? Front 02's greatly affect runnability.

Steve, you ought to submit some of you modified and special app tools, or ideas, to a company, maybe make a few/lot of bucks for the idea or proto-type.

I'm in agreement with steve. If the connection was melted then it most assuredly shorted the wires and probably that circuit to pcm. Keep us posted

Found that the port was 3/4 restricted once the plenum was off. Soaked in de-carbon over weekend, drilled, honed, scraped, chisled, punched, kicked and a few other tricks i could think of. Came out very clean and now map and egr and 02 readings are perrrrfect. Did this one for free and got a happy c...
