Re: 04 impala 3.4 po401 killing me
Pretty sure. With the egr off i ran the vehicle and had good and instant vacuum. Im In the process now of removing upper intake to examine real well because its the only plausible cause. I'll keep ya posted and am still open for ideas, thanks for your input

2004 Chev Impala - 3.4L P0401 Killing Me FIXED
Have a 2004 impala, 3.4 with a returning p0401. Checked original valve and was not functioning. Removed valve and commanded with pcm to open in stages and the pintle never moved. Got a new valve and tested it before installing. Pintle moves properly on the new one. A couple miles down tthe road and ...

Re: 2005 PT Cruiser 2.4L - Misfire Question
during your diag procedure i would swap a couple coils and see if the misfrire moves. From what i think, the cam sensor only syncronizes inj pulse and spark for start up. Once running it uses the crank sensor. You can prove this by un-plugging cam sensor with eng running. I've seen quite a few of th...

Re: 2000 Taurus Engine Surge With AC On
I've had issues with ford idles as well and in a lot of cases cleaning throttle plate with throttle/intake cleaner fixes the issue in about 80% of the cases. It's quick and easy to try. It's a Ford

Re: 2002 Chev Venture - 3.4L Intermittant No Start
Hope this works. I can't see why there would be a lot of smoke coming out when it finally started if injectors were shut down. May be another issue with a stuck or leaking injector. Maybe as the cam sensor starts working again, its out sync and injecting fuel at wrong time then catches up. Just sta...

Re: 2002 Chev Venture - 3.4L Intermittant No Start
I'll bet the incline is not relative and possibly have a cam ar crank sensor if it's not fuel related. I'd have comp, fuel pressure guage and any other test equipment hooked up and keep trying to re-create the issue. Time becomes money

Yeah, clamping can cause damage, and i like the quarter idea. I have a set of clamps meant for brake hoses. They have rounded edges and tighten screw by hand, still being careful. Curious to hear what he finds.

Agreed, oem parts. It sounds like hydraulic issue. Have you tried bleeding?

Re: 05 Elantra Fading Brake Pedal
if no abs event is occuring and no abs light is lit then your probably looking at a mechanical issue. If it were a dump valve in abs or something, I would think that pumping the pedal wouldn't make a difference. I would clamp off all 4 brake hoses then try pedal. If pedal feel good then release clam...

a clear section of rad hose helps. Don't get caught by the water pump impeller seperating from the shaft and not pumping as a result

Re: 96 landrover rangerover 4.6
Well steve, I pulled the air duct loose while running and it stalled right out. Makes me think your right about a finiky landrover ecm and not wanting to give up the info. One issue still bothers me however, when unplugging maf there is no difference in runnability. ????????? puzzled and exploring o...

Re: 96 landrover rangerover 4.6
Yank a main feed from air plenum hose between sensor and intake or un clamp and pull hose away a bit. This has to be on the engine side if sensor. See how it reacts. Could also be an intake issue. Steve, I assume by "see how it reacts" that you mean by providing un-metered air that it will run diff...

I agree and know the lr's are finiky. Unfortunatly I don't have any good contacts for someone with another brand of scanner. Plenty of snapons, no other brands... dealer is not helpful. Still hesitating to pull the trigger.

1996 Landrover Range Rover 4.6 - Skips
well.... it looks like I just don't learn. After my last experience with a landrover I'm thinking I should just keep a stick of dynamite as a tool for them. This one was sent to us by another shop (yeah, I'm a sucker for those) was skipping badly on bank b and they had diagnosed it with a clogged ca...

My guess is the screws are also in the cat. I'm going to look when customer returns. Hope it didn't "screw" up the cat. Pretty "screwed" up how it happened. Re: 2004 Nissan Altima 2.5S - Spark Plugs Issue
Got the vehicle back and looked down intake with boroscope. Couldn't see screws but did see the blade and while looking at it, worked the actuator with no blade movement, stuck about 3/4 open. Customer will return soon for some exploratory surgery. Thanks for the help, I think we're (your) onto some...
