Mitchell lists Diamond SP II fluid. What fluid can I use in place of this? We are not flushing the transmission.

Re: 2002 Chevy Trailblazer - 4.2L - NO START AFTER WARM

Well all, sorry for the delay in response but I may have figured this mess out. apparently the vehicle would run fine and intermittently not start when hot. I performed all the necessary tests - fuel - cam - crank - injectors - etc... Found all to check fine. All in spec. Then, it lost signal to the...

2002 Chevy Trailblazer - 4.2L - No Start After Warm

I have a 2002 Trailblazer giving me a fit. The problem only occurs after it has reached normal operating temperature and the truck is turned off. It has a new fuel pump, fuel filter, and the harness was inspected at install which was 7,000mi ago, but I would not think that would have failed since th...

2002 Chev Impala - 3.8L Power Loss

2002 Chevrolet Impala LS with a 3.8L (VIN K) - I have power loss at acceleration (or under a load) and initially repaired a faulty fuel pump. The pressure was at 45psi KOEO and should be 53- 59psi. I now have good fuel pressure and I replaced the fuel filter but the engine acts as if it is restricte...

2001 Toyota Highlander - ABS Problem No Codes

I have a 2001 Highlander in my shop with AWD, VSC, Skid Control. There is no codes present but the ABS activates at random speeds on dry surface and when it does it actually inhibits your ability to steer. I ran a diagnostic test on the DLC3 and found 10.8v across TS and CG (ok) so next I checked th...

1986 Honda Prelude - 5 Spd A2K5 Trans

Does Anyone have a diagram for the A2K5 5 speed Manual Trans? I am trying to find the housing for the speedo driven gear. This has an oiler on it which keeps the gear lubricated. On the one I have in the shop here, the return line nipple is broken off. In all the diagrams I have seen, the speedo hou...

1993 Ford Mustang LX - Steering Rack

I had a very unusual request from a customer to remove the P/S rack and replace with a manual one today. This car is a 1993 Mustang LX with a 2.3 l motor, manual transmission. Any suggestions first as to why, and second, what should I put in it and from where would I get it? Not usually something I ...

Re: 2000 Chev G2500 - 5.7L Stall Issues

I just wanted to let everyone know.... Fuel Pump was the problem. Because it always started right back up, I was not leaning toward it at first. However, in watching the fuel pressure gauge just as it was ready to stall, it dropped from 55 to 40 at stall, then jumped back up to 55. That is why it wo...

Re: 1999 Mercedes Benz C280 - Codes P0442 / P0450

Thanks for the input. I found the sender is faulty. Just to confirm, this would then send false failure code for the Evap sensor. Correct?

Re: 1999 Mercedes Benz C280

In that case a smoke test is unnecessary at this time, correct?

Forgive me - I am not as familiar with Mercedes as most others. would that sensor have anything to do with the Purge Valve Solenoid?

2000 Chev G2500 - 5.7L Stall Issues FIXED

I have a 2000 Chevy G2500 Express van 5.7l. in for stall issues. It usually stalls when it is cold, but has twice for me as well at 140deg. prior to thermostat opening. I first thought it may be a crank sensor since it just shuts down. Fuel pump works and replaced the FP Relay just to be sure. It st...

1999 Mercedes C280 - Codes P0442 / P0450

I have a 1999 C280 in my shop that has two DTC's (P0442 & P0450) Usually I would try a fuel cap first - sound reasonable or, with P0450, should I look somewhere else?
