Re: 1999 Jetta Melted Power Distribution Box
Good luck. Please remember a few things like key position and radio pass code. Make sure the fuses are correct amp and in the proper locations. Please take into account that the fuses may have been upped over the years and aren't the correct ones along with any aftermarket universal relays that may ...

Re: 1999 Jetta Melted Power Distribution Box
I generally find that with any vehicle that some mindless "tech" has diagnosed an electrical issue and stuffed a test light probe into a fuse seat a burned leg of a fuse usually turns up. Its caused by a bad contact and as we all know loose contacts cause heat and melting. As a rule any vehicle we w...

Just ran it through one of my diagnostic services and everything points to the hydraulic control unit. Symptoms match, low pedal pump once and its fine.

Re: 2016 Infinite QX50 driveability
Sorry for my late response, two quarts low could mean a lot of issues especially with the VVT and tensioner. Unplugging the sensor throws it into limp mode and forcing start. To me (sad to say) it sounds internal. Ill look into it a bit more when my lead tech arrives and get back.

Re: 2004 F250 6.0L Diesel - No Power?
You should be able to read the high pressure pump through the scanner. Personally I would replace the crank sensor and IMPORTANTLY with a wire brush clean the sensor bore and seat. Clean it so it shines. I have round wire brushes specifically for this issue. Rust will form inside and under the seat ...

Re: 2008 Dodge RAM: Bleeding Brakes - What Am I Missing?
I just deleted a long response so I'm going to downsize it. If there is any and I mean any air in the rear braking system the module will rear the pressure issue and release all pedal pressure until it lands on the brake default making the module apply pressure to the brakes. In the past I've had to...

Re: 2008 Dodge RAM: Bleeding Brakes - What Am I Missing?
You say that either front line is opened and pedal goes to floor, correct? I've been looking around a bit and I'm seeing a lot about a specific brake bleeding procedure. I've been in and out but will try to get a better idea and report back later. It's a two step procedure. I looked it up by creatin...

Re: 2007 GMC Yukon Denali - TPS Codes
The computers in that era G.M. vehicles are real touchy to say the least. As a rule anytime we are experiencing issues like this or ones that just don't make sense we check the modules and the need for a re-learn. There is about a 25% chance it needs one and the issue is resolved. At least now when ...

Re: 2007 GMC Yukon Denali
Could possibly be a re-burn issue. I've seen this before and wouldn't hesitate to do it with this. Oh ya, once it was changed out program may have gotten scrambled.

Re: 1997 Buick Park Ave - Replace EVAP Core
I ran a quick estimate on this job and came up with just under 1400.00. My labor for just replacing it was 7.5 them I added and hour for cleaning the ventilation system of and oil etc., The removal didn't allow for a system charge so I added that in also. No I do believe that there was a system ins...

Re: What Is My Option To Clamping A Brake Hose?
Before removing I would suggest having someone pump the brake pedal and inspect them for hanging up. I'm sure you already checked for bearing movement to see if its leaning against the piston. That would give you exactly the symptoms you are experiencing. Good luck.

Re: What Is My Option To Clamping A Brake Hose?
OK, lets deal with a generic vehicle, when you speak of rear abs only and its a Ford it gets complicated. Some vehicles have load valves that control the amount of pressure applied to rear brakes. I've lost count of how many Toyota's have arrived from other shops with a spongy pedal and the rear val...

Re: What Is My Option To Clamping A Brake Hose?
Old school verses new school, best way I can categorize it. At one time I always clamped off the hoses, now it's rare if at all since I started getting pieces if hose innards inside calipers. Quickest way I now fine a bad hose or caliper issue is through the bleeder screw. I don't allow a flow from ...

Re: 2008 Dodge RAM: Bleeding Brakes - What Am I Missing?
Looks to me that there has been a lot of talk about since all was good when lines were crimped it's time to suck it up and replace them. If I for some reason decided to next step it I would take calipers off and clamp them closed with vice grips to see what happens. From my point there are only a fe...

Re: 2008 Dodge RAM: Bleeding Brakes - What Am I Missing?
Sorry I missed this yesterday. I agree with crimping off hoses as being a no no since the inner wall of the line can and will crush. But in doing that I think you answered and solved he issue. The first thing I would do after that is make sure there is no play in the front wheel bearing then remove ...
