Re: Mail merge with recomendations
This possible, but you're going to have to know Office fairly well. The relevant data will first need to be imported into Excel, then merged into Word. We unfortunately cannot provide Technical Support on how to accomplish this.

Can you send me some information in a PM? E.g., the date range you ran the reports for.

Re: Sell Revision Automatically Creates an RO
The change was made to fix inventory values and correct the state of the order. You may have not noticed it before, but going back to older versions of SE, if you sold a Revision directly with no existing work on the Order tab, it would take the next RO/INV number anyway. Actually having it be conve...

This document is a little older now, but I think it might be helpful in this topic to help identify what is and isn't in a VIN http://www.mitchellsupport.com/ondemand5/VIN/VIN.pdf

Re: Firstcall Catalog Session Expired Message
With any SSL connection, the time and date are a factor, so do make sure those are as accurate as possible. I could only speculate, as this timeout is coming from FirstCall, but we used to have a similar problem with our Estimator integration. Back then we'd authenticate only once, then track that s...

If the VIN starts with 2, it was manufactured in Canada. But to both your points, getting caught up with Canadian vehicles is definitely a work-in-progress and a priority for us this year.

My only remaining suggestion is to start considering the amount of time you want to continue to sink into trying fix it vs. wiping and reloading the machine.

Re: Electronic Catalog Certificate errors? FirstCall/Repairl
Rick,
The file is already on your computer. If the program was installed on the c: local disk, the path is c:\programdata\m1-sk\certificates\ — it's a hidden directory, so you'll need hidden files visible temporarily to see it.

Re: Electronic Catalog Certificate errors? FirstCall/Repairl
Rick, It's definitely not related to the shop management software. The catalog interfaces are web-based, so that's where the cert. resides. However, if you want to cover some bases as far as certificates go, we have an installer (certificatesinstaller.exe) you can run in your c:\programdata\m1-sk\ce...

Re: Electronic Catalog Certificate errors? FirstCall/Repairl
Yes, you're looking at number of different possibles. As Ric mentioned, it could be permission related. If not, you can try to re-install the root certificates from the catalog sites. Another possibility, and the worst case, is you've had some malware alter some root security certificate publisher i...

Re: Electronic Catalog Certificate errors? FirstCall/Repairl
Rick,
Please tell me the time and date was verified on the computer with the certificate errors. When multiple certs fail, that's often the cause.

This is posted in the Manager SE section so we assume you are using SE 6.4. The "User" is a profile that records your screen preferences. I created this Knowledgebase article with a repeating 45 second loop of creating a User: http://www.mitchell1.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=182 Best bet if yo...

Ric,
That wouldn't hurt. Just want to make sure you have the right support though. Bad VIN data can be reported to our Product Support group, as they work more closely with our Editorial group than Technical Support does. http://mitchell1.com/main/contact-us/pr ... t-support/

I know this sounds odd, but the print driver IS used in rendering the preview as well. Could you try as noted above and set the printer to XPS Document writer?

Re: 6.5.54 - Ordering Parts Turns EST Into RO?
Thank you, Becky. No need for screenshots, as you covered the part of the equation that I was missing, which was Revisions. If you begin an order as an estimate, with work already on it, it will not auto convert to an RO. But selling a Revision alone without first adding any other work indicates the...

Re: Updated to 6.5.54 - order parts turns est into RO
Hi! Recently our program updated to 6.5.54. Now when we order a part on a est - it automatically turns the est to an RO. I have poked around settings & do not see how to keep it from doing that. We order parts ahead of times for jobs (sometimes a week or so) but I don't want the invoice # to be ass...
