Re: 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS - No A/C @ Idle?

No Steve, surprisingly he wasn't mad at us, in fact he said he was having it towed all the way back to MA and wanted us to replace the engine. But - it never showed up and haven't heard from him since. Guess what? I'm okay with that. He should have never made the cut, but then again just about every...

He let you do all the maintenance and he was just calling to tell you that he made it there just fine and how HAPPY he was.

Am I close?
Exactly, and I was so glad to hear it, I slept like a baby that night.

Thanks Arlin, and everyone else. I'd say we're all in agreement, and "customer" (note the "" marks) did exactly what was expected - "gonna rev it at red lights".

ricmorin wrote:Is this what the car came in for? Did you do anything other than a recharge? Do you check for sealer?
Yes, that is why it came in. Mark disconnected the low side pipe and "looked inside for any s..." said it was clean. He says he saw no evidence of sealer anywhere.

48 degrees inside at 1500, blowing warm air at idle.

1500: high side 150, low side 25-30, at idle: high side 150, low side 55.

Re: 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS - No A/C @ Idle?

does it have a comp cut off switch? is the comp shutting off, or is it still engaged? is the blower fan blowing at a constant speed? Nope to the cutoff switch, compressor is staying on, fan is working properly. Need more info than that...high side and low side pressures at idle and at 1500, and amb...

2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS - No A/C @ Idle?

At 1500 RPM A/C works fine, but when at idle blows only warm air.

System is fully charged (not over or under – we just did it  ).

We’re guessing compressor.

Any ideas? :?

Re: 2007 Toyota RAV4 - V6 AWD Water Pump Time?

Dealer is taking care of it, at no cost to customer. Customer was ecstatic, we found this before they went on a long trip, and that we recommended how they should handle it with the dealer. We may not have gotten paid this time, but I believe the way we handled it will pay us much more down the road...

Re: 2007 Toyota RAV4 - V6 AWD Water Pump Time?

Supposedly it can be done without engine removal. Not sure how cuz I haven't been there yet. If anyone get do it, YOU can. :D And yes, that time is for engine removal. I'd quote it like that and let the customer know it could be less. That's the plan, but as this is a TOP notch customer, we are goi...

2007 Toyota RAV4 - V6 AWD Water Pump Time?

Needs a water pump (with only 39K  ), Mitchell says 19.7 hours, the "other guy" says 13.7! Dealership told us, "no way", but of course didn't give us a time. Anyone do one of these, if so how long did it take (not what you charged, but actual time to replace the pump)? By the by, there was a ...

2002 Toyota Camry - Lower Control Arms

2002 Camry XLE, 4 cylinder, automatic, anyone done the front lower control arms on one of these? Labor guides say over seven hours, is this accurate? We've done them on Camrys before, but not this year's model, and the labor wasn't close to that.

Thanks.

Alright. I just had an experience with a DIY guy that I'll share.... A guy comes in around 4pm yesterday looking for an inspection. Never been here before. Sure! Write him up and on my way to the car he stops me and says he's got something to show me and wants to know if it'll pass. He brings me to...
