Separate Taxes Parts & Labor

Post by kkrvc »

Is there a way to break down on the invoice we give to the customer the taxes on the parts and the labor?

Welcome to the forum. In Ma. we only charge tax on parts and it shows on the work order in sub column. I see a labor tax charge in set up but not sure how it would show on the order. I'm sure someone will chime in later...................

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting your question.

The tax is calculated as a single total per order, according to program setup and customer profile associated with the order. States do vary as to whether labor, parts or both are taxed.

You can see a breakdown internally on reports for your business needs, I'm not sure why a customer would need it broken down?

A quick work around to satisfy customer curiosity is to print parts on 1 invoice, and labor on a separate invoice.
