Receiving parts

Post by allamerican1 »

Hi,
New to the forum and have an issue that I want to see if there is some real world solutions. Mitchel's support has no solution. My question is how does one receive parts line by line, (individually) instead of "confirming" all parts at once. Orders are not always filled completely all at once and we need to be able to track what is here and what is pending. Is there a way to do this? Presently we do this on the "tech worksheet" and it works fine but we are looking for paper less solutions.
Thank you.

If you are using ver. 6.5.XXX, then you have what you are looking for. When you order parts electronically (or by telephone) you would create a purchase order for the parts. Once the purchase order is marked as ordered, the parts line on the repair order will be highlighted with a blue background. Once the purchase order is marked as received, the parts line on the repair order will change from blue to green.

Hope that helps,

I have a PO that has two parts on it. Only one is here at the moment.

I open the PO. Click on the part that showed up. Click "receive", and "OK" to Recieve parts to appropriate orders when possible (be sure box next to it is checked.) the next box pops up to show you which RO the computer thinks it is Appropriate order, I click "OK" Then I click SAVE. as Clicking close makes the computer think you want to close the PO, which you do not want to do at this time.

Welcome to the forum!
I would love to come to AK and show you.

Hi,
Thank you both for the replies. I will work in the purchase order section of my SMS to take advantage of this feature.
Come on up to Alaska and we can see if we can find a few fish!

A job and a house would be perfect.
