Default Notes To Not Print On Invoice?

Is there a way to make "notes" defaulted to NOT "print on order"

I don't think so. I take it you write a lot of notes that you don't want printed, eh?

I try to never put anything i dont want the customer to see in notes.....now.

But i tend to make a ton of notes. this way if something happens and i am not right here to answer the phone or questions, it is almost black and white. it just that the customer doesnt need to see things like "called the customer and talked to them, they are thinking of only doing R2, those parts are all available, in town, from carquest they will call back with go or no go"

We put notes that we want to stay with the vehicle & the tech or office to see but do not want the customer to see- in the memo area on the Vehicle page, which you can set up to not to print on order, but will print on tech sheet... Works really well. We have not run out of room yet. We also write up the vehicle history in the memo area- easy to see.

If you REALLY need to keep something in notes from ever printing, that's what the REMARKS field is for on the customer screen. They NEVER print anywhere.

I wouldn't hobble or sweat Notes and/or Vehicle memo in general with this concern tying your hands, they probably should be printed most of the time. Use Customer Remarks and relax.

I use the remarks for special things like, This is the head coach of FSU hockey...etc etc Yet still pay little to no attention to them.

If I put a note in remarks we will never see it. Also when the invoice is complete, that same remark will stay with customer.

My issue is an internal "systems" issue. If I take 20 minutes looking for parts and need to make a note, to save the others time, such as....

"GT has the part if it is 1.55 inches around, NAPA has it if it is 2.25 inchs"

I need that note to show on the RO. I dont need that being printed, the customer doesnt really need to see it. The notes I make seldom get read, ( ) except by me, and they seem to never get deleted. I use to make notes such as..."I called and talked to the wife, she had no clue what the hell was wrong, we just need to do our best to figure it out", and at times it would get printed. So i avoid any of those notes. I will keep doing my best to unchecked the print box.
