Edit Service Writer in Configurations

Post by dan »

We hired a new service advisor about 30 days ago. Rather than deleting the we let go and adding a new advisor, we edited the old guy with the new one (changed name). All the reports shows the old guy, not the new, so assumes we did not configure properly?
1- Do we fix by deleting old and adding new?
2- Anyway to correct back to the day of that advisors termination and show results for the new advisor?

Thanks, dan

That doesn't work out too good. I would recommend the following:

1. Edit the existing record back to what it was with the previous (original) person.
2. Create a NEW entry for the replacement person.

This will restore accuracy to everything prior to the 30 days. The next step is going to be un-posting the less than 30 days invoices and changing the assignment and re-posting it. Print a technician report filtered to the name and date-ranged for the correct time period (+/- 30 days) to guide the process and cross them off as you go.
