Entering a Trailer Under Customer Account

Post by sbebenelli »

Got a customer who brought in 2 trailer tires for replacement. How do I get this into his account since it's not a vehicle.

I tried entering "trailer" but it appears a year is required to do a custom vehicle.

There's a couple of options.

1. You can dummy a year for the trailer.

2. You can counter sale the tires to the customer and leave the vehicle blank by hitting New on the vehicle screen.

If you did the mounting, I'd recommend option 1.

I do a lot of trailers or other vehicles, forklifts, atv's, generators, man lifts, etc. that are not in the Mitchell system, so we usually can find the year of a trailer, or as Silky said just enter a dummy year, it will ask if you are making a custom make etc, continue on typing in trailer, you can keep the plate number, GVW record of everything. Then the invoice will have that all included for identification later, or as we do for our fleets, so they know what service was done when to what machine.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
