Add Vehicle; Keep Plate?

Post by sbcauto »

We Find That A Customer Gets New Vehicle But Keeps Same Plate. If We Change Vehicle Information; The Vehicle History Changes Also. This Is A Problem For Warranty. The History Should Show The Orginal Vehicle Vin .

If you simply change the vehicle information then the history will stay attached to that record. Try this instead......

First, delete the plate being reused from the old vehicle record. It's ok to leave blank.
Second, create a new vehicle and add the plate number here.
Third, proceed as normal.

Now the vehicle histories will stay intact. No enhancements needed. Note that users should NEVER change vehicles within an existing vehicle record. NEVER.
