Hemi Engine ID?

Post by nickscarcare »

I was wondering if anyone out there has a book that can help me identify this engine. I am looking at purchasing it for my 46 dodge. I am trying to figure out the size and the year and anything else cool to find out! The numbers that I could see on it at this time were c542-8-33252. That was on top below the intake on the front of the engine. I am not sure if there are other numbers on the block somewhere that could help identify it. I am hoping there are some Mopar gurus out there that can help shed a light on this engine. Thanks
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Well I know the distributor is at the rear of the block and yes the plugs are in the middle of the heads. It is orange right now, but he said it was rebuilt?? Not forsure on that. It has a transmission with it. I will try to look at some block casting numbers if I can.

Found some more numbers, these are the casting numbers they were under the intake. 1330129-1 d264 cwc For what I am told it is a 331, 235 hp, 4 barrel, but this engine only has a 2 barrel. The valve covers say firepower on them. Came out of a 1954 Chrysler possibly a new yorker. Had one guy tell me to sta away from it they had lots of problems. Guess I kind of know what it is. Thanks for the replies!!!
