2015 GMC Canyon P0449 FIXED

Post by JPReilly »

Had a weird one today that I think we will be seeing again!

2015 Canyon with a P0449 Evap vent sol circuit. Checked power and ground while activating it with the scanner. Had power but no ground. Ground is supplied by the PCM. Checked at the PCM and had ground when activated. Started checking resistance as I went down the wiring harness. Finally found a broken/corroded wire in the wiring harness near the left front cab mount. Had to cut the harness back to find it. GM left a couple extra inches of wires that they looped back and forth inside the taped up harness, where it was bent back somehow the wire had been cut/nicked during assembly. Harness looked perfect from the outside.

Hope this saves someone some time down the road!
