2007 Chevy 3/4 2wd Diesel P0101

Post by 92zman »

Have a truck that has a P0101. We have put in a MASS meter and air filter. Light will stay off for a while and then come back on. Another shop replaced EGR valve and cleaned. Seems to happen more in cold weather then warm. I can never seem to get it to do anything while i have a scanner on it. Does not have ice or anything in air box..

Recheck EGR valve operation and MAF readings. Does it show induction leak readings on the scanner if so use those to see if you can see which side the leak is on.

I didn't check but at times the manufacturer will have software updates for some funky things. I had a Dodge truck a few years ago that would randomly throw a code & turn the CEL on. All my diagnosis was futile. I reflashed the PCM and that took care of it. As I said, I don't know if reflashing the PCM would be an option in this case or not but in having done diagnostic for 28 years now, it remains high on the list when I'm getting nowhere in my diagnostic sequence.
