Replaced lock cylinder. Does not utilize the resistor key system. No start, security light flashes then goes out. No codes in the bcm. No diagnostic procedure for "security light goes out". Tried a relearn procedure if lights is on but did not work.

Any ideas?

why was lock cylinder replaced? if it has a remote start in it look to see if there is a key reader with a key taped to it or one that the key fell off of. i've had vehicles towed in where the key that was taped to the reader ring so the remote start would function had got to near the heater duct and the tape melted releasing the key. another point here is that the pcm may have to be reburned. with more of a detailed description of what/how the vehicle was towed in or driven in for the original problem.

Flashing indicates the vehicle is in tamper mode. If it didn't have a no start condition before it arrived, you may have disturbed the passlock sensor or wiring.

Replaced the lock because it was sticky--worn tumblers. No remote. I'll recheck the install.

You would think the BCM would store a code related to theft deterant but nothing is stored.

Thanks for your advice.

on the metal part of the origional key is there a PK3 stamped on the metal just before the black head? if so, does your replacement key have it also?
