what about spark or injector pulse. may be a bad crank sensor.........................

had one with the same symptoms and the exhaust had collapsed. if you spray a little wd40 into intake what happens? does it rev up and die?

crack the injector line where it attaches to the injector and see if you've got fuel coming out. the pulsation you're getting in the line may be misleading. if it fires and runs for longer than you think it should when you hit it with wd40 it may be getting air bound. another little thing i just remembered is if the oil pressure is low the truck will not run. there is a bulliten reguarding the crank sensor being to close to the cog causing a no signal. use an ohm meter to read the signal from the crank and cam sensor. i don't know if this is the effected time frame but ford is having a little issue with the cam sensor reading the reluctor wheel on the "crank" if the cam sensor isn't reading and it's been either tested or replaced the engine has to come out. ford isn't repairing them they're reccomending engine replacement.

oh ya one more thing. for some reason this is a well kept little tid bit about the reluctor issue. you haven't said if you have any codes.
