1999 Explorer: Erase Keep Alive Memory

Just wondering when you replace intake manifold gasket; how to erase "keep alive memory". My scan tool is not capable. ? Thanks

KAM fuse should be #6 in the battery junction box. Disconnect for a few minutes. Can't remember exactly how long. That should do it. I assume this is a 4.0?

I think it's 5 minutes. You can do the same thing by having the battery cable disconnected for the same time frame. You may be already doing this during your manifold job.

not understanding why you want to erase k.a.m. b.t.w. there is an updated intake with re-desighned runners in it.
