1999 Jeep Cherokee - Driver Squibb Circuit

1999 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED....AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND SCANNER SAYS DRIVERS SQUIBB CIRCUIT OPEN....CAN'T NOT FIND ANYTHING ON THE REPAIR FOR THIS....CAN ANYONE HELP!

Most of the time it is the clock spring, if you unplug the connector at the base of the collum you should get a squib shorted code. If you do plug it back in and unplug the airbag and short the connector and if you get an open code still and a shorted code when unpluged at the bottom it is a bad clockspring.

i agree with joe. if the horn won't work you've got your answer. on occasion if the jeep bumped something but not quite hard enough to deploy the air bag the module may have almost triggered and can't reset. i can fax a diagnostic flow to you if need be.
