Oil pump drive assemble making noise. Drive gear on bottom worn. Bushings in assemble rinning with little or no lubrication. Replaced oil pump drive assemble. Cause of lack of lubrication. Car has 25000 miles. :?:

I seen it on some as new as 2005 but not on a 2006 yet. For some reason there was an issue with that in some years. It seems that there may have been a tsb on that in an earlier year.

welcome to the forum. you'll probably find by putting customer under a spot light that there have been a few times the oil light has come and the oil has only been changed three times. drive assembly is just that. something (oil pump) had to be dragging for something to effect the driver. i'll lean towards poor maintenance. remember now, in cases like this the customer will probably try to convince us that they're the poster child for vehicle maintenance.

I have to wonder if this is not caused by the removal of zinc/phospate in the newer oils
