I checked for updates yesterday, saw this update under the *check for updates* tab. Decided to wait until this morning to do the update so we wouldn't distrupt work flow yesterday. Clicked on *check for updates* this morning and the update was no longer there. Says "There are no updates available at this time". Wondering if anyone else had this issue?

Wow, you are on it. :)

This isn't a problem on your end. We did indeed release; found a couple of immediate items we wanted to correct. We're working to address those before we put it back up for download.

We are pretty excited about the new layout. Help us manage our oil inventory better. Thanks for the update!

I would like to suggest an option for later down the road. A way to turn the job grouping on per station, versus global setting.
I love the update, and want to use it on the invoicing side of things. But some of our techs do not, it can get confusing for them. So we have to keep it turned off for now.

Edit: I'm talking more the view, then the functions, I get the functions have to be global.

What do techs do on your Manager SE computers that service advisors don't handle?

We handle a lot more with Mitchel then they do, but a lot of our techs are older, and like the simpler view.
In the RO area specifically: Our head tech does a lot of the typing for the service writers, since we're a small shop it makes our flow go faster.
So they'll type out the descriptions of testings and repairs, then pass on the paperwork for us to finish the invoice.
That's mainly all they do with their side, is the initial typing. Or occasional making of tickets outside of office hours.

Hi Christina,

Unfortunately that's way more work than it sounds - and a ton of complexity. I know change is always hard.

I think it's all about finding 10-15 minutes where they can sit down with it without pressure. I hope you can win them over! :)

I just installed the update and tried the new job view presentation. I like the concept, but it appears that the jobs can not be reordered on the repair order screen. That, in and of itself, prevents me from wanting to use it because I am OCD about how our repair orders appear on the screen. Every new job goes to the bottom and that is not necessarily how I want them to be viewed.

Yes you can! If you want the 3rd job to instead appear first, you can click and drag it up to that position. Or vice-versa.

Also, if you ever have the wrong job container focused and your transferred item lands in the wrong place, you can drag that to the correct job container.

Hi Larry!

Take another look when you have a moment. The job containers themselves can be dragged and dropped for re-order in any way you want. *Edit* Tim beat me by 10 seconds. :)

Okay, I figured it out. It does drag the job containers, but it does act like it does when you are dragging individual line items. If I didn't pay attention, I wouldn't even know it was performing the operation.

I am missing VIN digits on our printed invoices. The last 8 are there, and the first 5. Missing the 4 digits in the middle. Any one else having this issue?

When attempting to apply category to a job thru the job specific category selector, the job line categories do not change to that category.
I have seen how the job category changes to the canned job category when added to the job if that option is selected in the setup window.
Am i understanding the intended behavior well enough to assume that this is a possible bug ?
I think i remember this function working this way right after installation but it no longer works the same way ...

We're working to address this. Keep an eye on this thread next week - support will likely post when a fix is available.
